About
A semi-solid collection of electrons and protons and neutrons and some other ons I am not aware of which move coherently in a weird form resembling Homo Sapiens more closely than any other commonly seen species.
I come from a small town in India called Bharatpur in the state of Rajasthan, and studied at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur to do my undergrad in Computer Science and Engineering. An amazing place with its unique culture, it gave me, more important than anything else, the everlasting friendships. Another good thing that happened to me during this period was my exposure to some interesting problems in biology, a subject that had frightened me since school days. Nevertheless, this time, I couldn’t escape the excitement of folding proteins and regulating genes through C programs, and that led me to this yet another wonderful place called UC San Diego. Life is going on, missing old friends, making new ones, cooking food, attending seminars, discovering science, watching corporate america, splashing water at beaches, and lot more.
Usually ready for anything that offers fun with friends (everything that is captured by the word bhasad), I like to travel, particularly to mountains and other places of natural beauty. I love playing squash and tennis, and to some extent digital photography as you can find me trying to take unusual pictures with my little Canon SD200
. I enjoy spending time for Udai and do whatever little good I can. I love learning about philosophy and cultures, and about business and technology. I am not a voracious reader, but am trying to get some time for reading Vedantic literature. I have been experimenting with writing poems, and more recently, with lyrics for our funky band, UCSD Bhalus! Like most other people, I enjoy music (Ghazals these days) and even tried my hands at playing a few musical instruments including keyboard, flute, tabla and Harmonica, though things got discontinued before I reached a satisfactory level, except for keyboard (harmonium) on which I can play some selected songs. And before you think I am going to quit music, I have picked up piano now and it remains to be seen where I land up with my new found interest in this great instrument
